There are hundreds of web development companies in Ahmedabad, and the websites they show you all look good in a portfolio grid. Screenshots do not tell you whether those sites load fast, rank, generate enquiries, or whether the client can edit a phone number without paying.
Ask these twelve questions instead.
The twelve questions
- Who owns the domain, hosting and code? The answer must be you. If any of the three sits in the agency's name, you cannot leave.
- Can I edit content myself after launch? If every text change is a billable ticket, budget for it now.
- What is included in SEO at build time? Ask specifically about page titles, URL structure, headings, schema markup, image compression and speed.
- Can I see a live site you built, and its speed score? Run PageSpeed Insights on it yourself while you are sitting there.
- Can I speak to two current clients? A confident agency says yes immediately.
- Who writes the content? Placeholder text at launch is the most common reason a project stalls for months.
- What is the milestone timeline? Dates for design approval, build, content, and launch — in writing.
- How many revisions are included? And what a revision costs after that.
- What happens after launch? Support window, response time, maintenance scope and yearly cost.
- Will you set up Search Console, Analytics and Google Business Profile? In your accounts, not theirs.
- Is the site mobile-first? Ask to see a mobile design before development, not after.
- What do you recommend I not spend on? An agency that only adds to the scope is selling, not advising.
Warning signs
- A guaranteed number-one Google ranking. Nobody can guarantee it.
- A full price quoted before anyone has asked what your business does.
- No written scope — only WhatsApp messages and a verbal figure.
- Refusal to hand over hosting or code access.
- A portfolio of sites that are all offline, or all identical.
- Pressure to pay the full amount upfront with no milestones.
Local matters more than people think
Working with a company based in Ahmedabad means you can meet them, they understand your market and your customers' language, and accountability is real. That said, location alone is not a qualification — apply the twelve questions to a local agency exactly as strictly as to a remote one.

Frequently asked questions
A written scope with page list, design revisions, content responsibility, technical SEO work, launch setup including Search Console and Analytics, hosting and domain ownership terms, and post-launch support with a stated yearly cost.
A local agency is easier to meet and hold accountable, and understands the local market and language. But judge any agency on ownership terms, technical quality, references and clarity of scope, not on location alone.
No. Pay against milestones — for example an advance, a payment on design approval, and a final payment at launch. Milestones protect both sides.
Open them on your phone, time how long they take to load, run Google PageSpeed Insights, and search for the business name plus its main service to see whether the site actually ranks.
Start with an audit rather than a rebuild. Often speed, structure, content and local SEO fixes recover performance at a fraction of the cost of starting over, and they preserve your existing search history.
